                                                    Why online training?

Why should you take my online training classes for your Small/Family Business?

Have you been thinking about starting a family business but feel intimidated by your lack of accounting skills?

Are you more passionate about providing your product or service than you are about crunching the numbers behind the scenes?

Does the thought of keeping up with the 71,684 pages of the IRS tax code leave you virtually paralyzed?

If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, you’re not alone.  Most Americans contemplating a start-up business of their own have been plagued by similar thoughts.

First, let me assure you that 95% of your concerns are based on the fear of the unknown.

That’s why I’m here.  Like Toto in The Wizard of Oz, I want to pull the curtain back and reveal that the scary wizard isn’t really all that scary after all.

As you’ll learn on my “Personal Bio” page, I have 22 years experience as a Certified Public Accountant, Controller and Financial Analyst.  There’s no need for you to learn the tough lessons by trial and error.  Let me help you navigate the seemingly treacherous waters of establishing good accounting practices.

I want your family business to succeed.  In fact, that’s my heart's cry.

You know what kind of widgets you want to sell.  You know what kind of service you want to offer.  And, more importantly, as a Christian, you might have drawn the same conclusion my wife Rita and I have:  Starting a family business is the perfect means of discipling the children whom God has entrusted to you.

Through my on-line training classes you’ll develop confidence in your accounting skills.  Once you learn how to crunch the numbers, you’ll be that much closer to realizing your dream of starting a family business.

Or perhaps you’ve already got a family business up and running, but you recognize that accounting is certainly a weakness that you need to address before the poor bookkeeping gets totally out of hand!

My series of webinar classes is intended to build one upon another.  First, I’ll help you prepare and lay the foundation.  Then, we’ll build the house from there.

I promise that I won’t use accounting buzzwords.  I’ll define terms as I go along.  And I think you’ll find my style to be accessible, easy to understand and motivating.

For example, the very first class will address, from a Biblical perspective, why accounting is even important in the first place.

In other words, these courses are not designed for you to become an accountant who works for someone else.  Rather, they will equip you with the relevant skills to do your own accounting for your small business.

As I explain in detail in my “Personal Bio” page, family businesses are important to me.  I believe that it’s in the context of work that the greatest opportunities exist for passing on God’s truth to our children.

Through business, we share common vision and grow closer together.  Through business, we stretch each other’s patience and exercise true Godly love for each other.  Through business, we can teach our children basic life skills in the process of dealing with customers, taking care of inventory, fulfilling orders, preparing fliers, and of course, accounting.  Most importantly, through business we can teach our children God’s laws.

In Deuteronomy 6:7 we are told to teach our children God’s law everywhere and all the time.  “Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

Frankly, this is very hard to do in a society that pulls families apart at every turn.  I believe that Christian homeschooling and family-integrated businesses are the answer to this challenge.

I want to help you in your valiant effort.  Your family business might just be the missing piece in your discipleship puzzle to cement the values you hold most dear.  Nothing is more important than the Godly legacy you pass on to your believing children, grandchildren and beyond.
